The Chancellor of the Exchequer has today delivered his second budget of 2021, which also coincides with a spending review that was delayed from 2020 because of the economic uncertainty caused by COVID-19. This document provides NFB members with an overview of the key announcements that are likely to impact their businesses and the construction industry.
The NFB welcomes the Budget, as a significant amount of money has been confirmed or reconfirmed in the public sector pipeline. The Government has also signalled its continued priority of housing delivery and there is some good news for the heritage sector which should help to support NFB heritage members’ workloads in the future. The economic outlook does however present challenges – with continued inflationary pressures in terms of wages and fuel.
